Barça Ready for Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said finished work included an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
