Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
American entertainer Finn, who was seen in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
