Should My Boyfriend Wear the Clothes I Buy for Him?

One Side's View: Bella

If my partner doesn't wear something I've presented him, I get hurt. Selecting items is my approach of demonstrating I care

I genuinely enjoy purchasing items for my partner, him. It concerns love; I get excited each time I spot an item that makes me think of him.

I especially prefer to buy him garments – I believe it offers him a little morale increase. Even though I already like his fashion sense, it's my approach of showing I care.

I make more money than him, so it's not significant to get him items. I realize some individuals don't show affection through presents, but since I am able to, why not?

Yet when he fails to wear something I've presented him, especially after I've given consideration into it, I feel disappointed.

Recently, I got him a set of jeans. Yet I noticed he avoided wearing them, and questioned if he enjoyed them.

He walked down the next day putting on them, saying: "Hey, I've have your jeans on!" It left me experiencing foolish.

It seemed as if he was just putting on them due to the fact that I had inquired. To some extent felt delighted, but conversely felt as if he was behaving to shut me up.

I don't expect him to sport each item promptly or to demonstrate gratitude, but when periods go by and I fail to notice him sporting my gifts, I commence to wonder if he enjoyed them in the first place.

I desire him to look his optimal – so, yes, I have thoughts about what fits him.

One time, I tried to get rid of his sandals. I hate them. My boyfriend got very annoyed. Perhaps I crossed boundaries a bit.

He claimed I sought to remove his identity, but I didn't. I just wished him to recognize what I perceive: that he could look amazing if he enhanced his wardrobe moderately.

Axel has has great fashion sense when he chooses to, and I get annoyed when he remains with the routine outfits out of habit.

I suppose that's due to the fact that he lacks as much concern in clothing as I do and doesn't have as much funds to spend in his outfits.

Yet, from my viewpoint, occasionally it's not about the outfits at all; it's about wishing to sense that my actions are recognized.

I adore that he is autonomous and strong-willed; it's part of what defines him. But I also desire he'd see that when I get him items, I'm simply attempting to bond with him.

His Perspective: His View

I was alone so long I'm not used to people getting me gifts – and I don't like getting directions what to do

I believe Bella's tendency of getting me things and then growing upset when I fail to wear them is problematic.

Not anyone should be compelled to wear a item when the giver wants. This diminishes from the significance of a item, which is meant to be altruistic.

Regarding the denim, I just didn't have opportunity for putting on them as it was quite sweltering this summer.

However when she asked if I enjoyed them, I wore them the very following day.

She then charged me of only wearing them to placate her, which was somewhat correct. But my thinking is: avoid asking me to put on a piece you bought and then accuse me of not really wanting to sport it.

None of that seems reasonable.

I should be capable to choose when to put on my outfits. My girlfriend is being extremely kind when she purchases me things, but I prefer not to experiencing pressured.

She stated I was ungrateful when I raised this issue, but it's really different.

She also earns a much more funds than me, and it isn't a significant issue for her to indulge on new items.

But I don't have that many outfits, and I'm accustomed to putting on the same old clothes. It needs me a bit of time to adjust to having new things in my closet.

Additionally I'm unaccustomed to others getting me items, as this is my first relationship. There's likely also a touch of me acting strong-willed.

When my girlfriend sought to get rid of my footwear, I didn't react positively.

I genuinely like the denim she got me, but at times if she has a excellent suggestion, my first response is to decline to follow it, simply because I've been single for so extensively and I am uncomfortable with getting directions what to perform.

My girlfriend has additionally pointed out this propensity in me, and I realize I need to work on it.

However, another part of me wonders whether Bella is purchasing me things because she's {trying|attempt
