Two Victims Revealed in the Ivy League School Attack as Law Enforcement Persist in Hunt for Killer.
Two students who were killed in the recent tragic incident at Brown University were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter carried on following the freeing by local law enforcement of the single suspect of interest in the case.
Honoring a Lost Student
Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a service on Sunday.
She served as second-in-command of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, the group said. The White House press secretary also expressed words of sorrow online, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”
The Second Victim
The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his initial year at the renowned school, according to relatives.
The victim's identification was officially acknowledged by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He harbored grand aspirations of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sibling Samira said in a memorial statement.
